At the World Travel and Tourism Council Global Summit in Buenos Aires last month we were reminded just how significant our industry is…..the tourism sector has outgrown global GDP every year for 17 years. It was also predicted that one in five newly created jobs globally will be in the travel and tourism industry.

Whilst it was interesting to listen to the CEO’s from some of the biggest brands in travel, including Hilton, Carnival, Hyatt, Thomas Cook and TUI, the most fascinating stories came from a renowned story teller, the legendary Francis Ford Coppola. He started one of the world’s first ever eco-tourism lodges before the concept really existed. Inspired by the jungles in the Philippines where he filmed the award winning Apocalypse Now, Coppola wanted to recreate the intense atmosphere and found a run down lodge in Belize https://www.thefamilycoppolahideaways.com/

What a privilege to be able to hear from such inspired leaders, and to witness first hand the beauty and culture of Argentina and its very special capital city “BA”.
