A potted history of my career so far: HR director for Opodo, from 2004 to 2006. Prior to this I was head of HR for Amadeus Services Ltd and prior to this, I worked for 11 years at Galileo United Kingdom, a wholly owned BA subsidiary, where I was responsible for all aspects of human resources.
My new job entails: Working with Gail Kenny Recruitment to develop their new HR Consultancy business line focused on change management, talent management, reward, and mediation services.
My biggest challenge in the job is: To establish Gail Kenny Recruitment as a leading provider of HR services to the travel industry.
The first thing I want to do is: To get to know the team and to discuss how the HR Consultancy line will complement the excellent range of services already provided by Gail Kenny Recruitment.
If I’m not at my desk you’ll catch me: Meeting clients to discuss their HR requirements.
My favourite thing to do outside of work is: Watching Sunderland AFC.
I can’t live without: My bike, it keeps me fit and cycling provides me with the opportunity to get out into the countryside and to unwind and relax.
What will I get cracking on first?: Retention and talent management are key challenges facing most companies, we’ll be doing some work around this area and particularly with regard to how companies are dealing with these challenges in the travel sector.
Why come to us?: We feel that our combined travel, online and HR experience mean that we will be able to offer tailored, innovative and pragmatic HR solutions that will bring real benefits to our clients.
