ITM Appoints Gail Kenny Executive Search as New ITM Recruitment Provider

New Partner Announces Immediate Intent for HR Forum

The Institute of Travel & Meetings (ITM) UK & Ireland today announced the awarding of an initial three year contract to Gail Kenny Executive Search (GKES) for the provision of recruitment services under the ITM Recruitment brand, launched initially 4 years ago. GKES were awarded the contract after a detailed RFP exercise in which four industry providers were shortlisted.

The new partnership will commence from 1st August 2009, with GKES providing executive search and selection services to the ITM membership and wider travel and meetings industry.

Commenting on the contract award, Paul Tilstone, ITM’s chief executive said, Gail Kenny and her team really shone in the tender process and we are delighted to welcome them to ITM. Their appointment will ensure a top class service is provided to our members and the wider industry, with profits from the relationship being ploughed back into services provided by the association. We have specifically ensured that our new partner has experience in the Meetings & Events sector and are looking at a longer term project to engage graduates.

ITM Recruitment is part of a suite of value-add services ITM has embarked on creating since 2004, with research, events and more recently the creation of ITM Academy, designed to attract graduates into the industry with ITM approved degrees. The new recruitment partnership starts at an interesting time, with companies in the travel sector looking hard at ensuring their human resources are as efficient as they can be.

Speaking about the wider issue of managing talent and the part they can play as ITM Recruitment, Gail Kenny, managing director of GKES, said, We recognise that staff are a company’s most important asset. Whilst attracting the right staff in lean times is of paramount importance, so is managing the resources you already have. Because of this, we intend to create a forum for HR managers in the industry, as part of our ITM Recruitment programme, to discuss the most effective way of retaining and re-deploying talent already in place.
